SIA Statement on Enactment of COVID-19 Recovery Legislation

WASHINGTON—March 30, 2020—The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) released the following statement today from President & CEO John Neuffer commending congressional approval and enactment of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act recovery package. SIA represents U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing, design, and research, with members accounting for approximately 95 percent of U.S. semiconductor company sales.

“The CARES Act helps provide needed stability to the U.S. economy and a welcome boost to businesses and families hit hard by the COVID-19 health crisis. We applaud Congress for approving this legislation with bipartisan support and President Trump for swiftly signing it into law. We urge Congress and the Administration to continue working to strengthen our economy while also making our country more resilient to future crises by adopting ambitious policies to promote the use of technology in health care, education, and other essential government services.”
