SIA Statement on Recent U.S. Government Announcement about New Fab Construction

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) released the following statement from president and CEO John Neuffer in response to the recent government announcement about planned new fab construction in Arizona. SIA represents 95 percent of the U.S. semiconductor industry.

“We need an ambitious, comprehensive U.S. government commitment to invest in America’s chipmakers, as other countries are playing to win and investing with great urgency to increase semiconductor production within their borders. We look forward to working with our friends in the U.S. government to develop and execute a strategy to advance this effort.”
